Countercultural: a way of life and set of attitudes opposed to or at variance with the prevailing social norm.

We are working to disrupt harmful narratives and create beautiful futures.

To do that, more and more people must reimagine who they are, how they work, and how they engage with the world. But society’s social structures (and the narratives that support them) are often designed to maintain the status quo. The status quo is limiting to most of us: people with big dreams and strong values; people called to serve the collective; people who have been underserved in most western social contexts; and anyone with an approach to life and work that centers people and purpose over profit.

For those looking to do better and make a better world, following the rules of the dominant culture will never lead to kind of disruption that’s needed to succeed. So we are building a community of people and organizations that are “conventional wisdom” averse.

At SageHouse, all of our work reflects this single, deeply held belief: that being countercultural is the only way to win and create true change - personal, institutional and social.
